Thought I would share a photo that I took this morning for your cover. This wall has been in place for almost five years and still looks great. When I bought this place the yard just rolled down to the driveway and was a pain to mow. The ready mix company that I work for had access to the midsize block form from our prestressed concrete division so I bought the six inch recess and poured all the blocks with left over concrete. You can’t tell with the snow, but grass grows right up to the outside edge. With the help of my son we built the wall ourselves.

Designed and built by Rollie Schraepfer, this has been a multi year project with Ivey Construction, (Mineral Point, WI) pouring all 1600+ blocks in the wall.

The main wall stretches about 300 ft and stands 16 ft tall.

Each block weighs roughly 2000 lbs and sits on solid concrete footing.

When finished, this project integrates 8 walls, made from over 100 semi loads of blocks.

When building walls of this size, it’s crucial that each block is true and fits squarely with the others.
